Thornhill, Bache (1747 -1830)
Bache Thornhill, of Stanton Park in Derbyshire, was the son of Bache Thornhill (1700 1761) and his second wife, Margaret, daughter of Anthony Eyre of Rampton and Grove in Nottinghamshire, and grandson of John Thornhill of Thornhill and Anne, niece and heir of Raphael Bache of Stanton. He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he matriculated 10 April 1765, aged seventeen, and was created M.A. 19 April 1769. He succeeded his father in 1761. He married Jane, daughter of Edward Gould, of Mansfield Woodhouse in Nottinghamshire and Staverton in Devon. He was High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1776.
