Piers, Henry, Sir, 3rd Baronet, of Tristernagh Abbey (1678 -1733)

Sir Henry Piers was the eldest son of Sir William Piers, 2nd Baronet of Tristernagh Abbey, County Westmeath, and Honora FitzMaurice, eldest daughter of William 20th Lord Kerry. He succeeded his father 2 June1693. He married firstly Jane, daughter of John Pigot, of Kilfinny in County Limerick, and secondly, 8 December 1729, Catherine, daughter of Richard Barry, 2nd Lord Santry, and widow of the 3rd Earl of Barrymore. He was appointed High Sheriff of West Meath in 1702. He died of an overdose of opium 14 March 1733, and was succeeded by his second but eldest surviving son and heir Sir John Piers 3rd Baronet.
