Percy, Charlotte Florentia, Duchess of Northumberland (1787 -1866)

Charlotte Florentia Clive was the eldest daughter of Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis. In 1817 she married Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland. They had no children. She was appointed governess of Princess Victoria, the later Queen Victoria. The dowager duchess died at Mount Lebanon, Twickenham in 1866. The flower Clivia nobilis was named in her honour in 1828 by the Kew botanist John Lindley.
