Pembroke College Oxford N/A
Pembroke College, Oxford, was founded by James I, in 1624, with money pledged by Thomas Tesdale and Richard Wightwicke. It was a refoundation of the medieval Broadgates Hall, and incorporates its original buildings. The new college was named for the Earl of Pembroke, then Chancellor of the University, and the arms are those of the Earl with a chief incorporating the royal badges to commemorate King James.
