Harford-Battersby, Abraham Gray (1786 -1851)
Abraham Gray Harford-Battersby, of Stoke House in Cardiganshire, was born 1 November 1786, the son of John Scandrett Harford, and Mary, daughter of Abraham Gray of Tottenham. He was educated at Oxford, where he obtained his his M.A.,He married, 11 May 1816, Elizabeth youngest daughter of Major General Dundas of Fingask and Carron Hall. He took the additional name and arms of Battersby on inheriting the estate of his kinsman William Battersby. He died in May 1851, and was succeeded by his son John Battersby Harford.
