Ffytche, John Lewis (1816 -1902)
John Lewis ffytche, of Thorpe Hall, Lincolnshire, was the eldest son of John ffytche, of Thorpe Hall, and Anne, daughter of John Willson of Sturton Hall in the same county. He was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford, where he was admitted 19 March 1835, aged 18, took his B.A. in 1838 and his M.A. in 1843. He was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. He succeeded his father in 1855. He married Susannah Maria daughter of George Skipworth of Moorton in Lincolnshire in 1858. He served as Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, and High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1865. He was still alive in 1890, and was living at Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.
