Dent, John Henry (1794 -1866)

John Henry Dent was the son of William Dent Esq. of Hallaton Manor in Leicestershire. He was educated at St John's College, Cambridge, where he was admitted a pensioner on 26 August 1812, matriculated in 1813, was elected a scholar, took his B.A. in 1817, and his M.A. in 1820. Hallaton Manor passed to General Robert Havard Price, of the Bengal Staff Corps, who assumed, in 1885, the additional surname of Dent.
