Bourne, James, Sir, 1st Baronet (1812 -1882)

Sir James Bourne, of Heathfield, in Liverpool was the second, but eldest surviving, son of Peter Bourne, of Hackinsall Hall and Heathfield in Lancashire. He was educated at Shrewsbury School. A Justice of the Peace and a Deputy Lieutenant for Lancashire, and Lieutenant Colonel Commandant of the Lancashire Militia Artillery 1863 18681, and Colonel of the 4th Brigade Lancashire Artillery Volunteers 1881 1882, he was elected Member of Parliament for Evesham 1865 1880. He was created a baronet 10 May 1880, and made a Companion of the Bath in 1881. He married Sarah Harriot Dyson, and they had one son James Dyson, the 2nd Baronet, and three daughters. The baronetcy became extinct when the 2nd Baronet died without surviving issue 11 November 1883.
